"Work on your inner being and your outside being will have substance"- Treldon Layne
The above quote was mentioned during a motivational call with T&T Global Peace Ambassador Kareem Daniel Ryce, a young man I respect. "Work on your inner being and your outside being will have substance." You may wonder why I said these words to him? Like anything else inside, the self is the very first place to start. But why has the majority of people failed to comprehend the importance of these words? Is it because our schooling doesn’t teach this way of living as a model or our teachers don't speak about self-mastering or self-love? These are important questions one must ask consciously to find answers. And asking and seeking inside is the very first place to start on any quest of living your truths.
What is self-mastery? Self-mastery is the ability to control one's own desires or impulses; self-control, self-discipline, etc. However, I realized the wisdom of Ryce's advice, and went away by myself to get over my anger and reacquire my self-mastery. How many of us can say we have mastered ourselves? I am sure we will be in a better state or position if we practice self-mastery. Most of our problems stems from our desires and how strong they are in our world. They are called VICES, and that plays a big part of our life in whatever we do. What is a vice? A vice is a moral failing or a bad habit. Traditional examples include drinking alcohol, smoking tobacco, and gambling in card games. But anything can be a vice, as long as there's someone out there who views it as bad behavior or a moral weakness. You might say casually, "I don't drink, smoke, or gamble.” We learn as we all grow in this world called life on our own quests. So you could start at one point in your destination but it would not define the outcome of that journey. Once you keep marching forward, keep going and keep reaching higher, will not your growth be seen by others? The only failure in life is when you stop your progress.
Progress is defined as making things move steadily, piece-by-piece and in other words, progress is what's needed to conquer any form of crisis in your life, so keep on going forward! In the final chapters of life, only you can decipher what progress you have made, because you have the responsibility to live with your inner self as a being. What will your stories be like, and only you can tell it. What are your experiences? You are the ONLY person who can take yourself down that road of making real progress in your own life, as you fully know inside as well! So self is important and self-mastery is crucial on any quest.
It hurts me as a person to see someone not fully understanding and loving their own selves in this world. We have to move forward with self-love being very prominent. Do you see that in your world view? If you don't see it, that's why you need to take the time to master self-love! If you want to have any substance in your life for mastering yourself, you must learn to appreciate self-love as one way of accomplishing that goal.
That's the only way to sincerely march forward on your very own quest. Learn to appreciate it and you will see dramatic changes as you sincerely grow as well... The world is there for your taking and only you can decipher the success of that road... Continue on the road of self-mastery and sincerely loving yourself as well too...
In conclusion, the inner self is always what matters most. How you respond to that theory will really tell our successes and failures of conquering yourself. Strive in all that you do to be better and greater and your life will be redefined with inner hope and spirit. Thank you for reading and tracking with me and always remember, self-mastery is one of the best roads to walk down as you do the dirty work of life....
