Living With Mental Illness & Wanting Changes
When you are mentally ill, it feels like you're fighting with your brain - I will explain why. When I was 18 years old, I first encountered depression and was told I was mentally ill. It was very hard for me to accept that, but in time I did. So I can tell you personally that mental illness can be characterized as fighting with your own brain.
You may wonder why I made that statement. Simply put, you want a better life but your brain is not there yet to give you that God given life. We don't see that vision and our brain don't feel the same way as we may speak. Sometimes, even though you as an individual want a better life and hope for a better life, your brain is doing some function that goes contrary to what you want. And for me, that was one of my biggest struggles while being mentally ill.
The big question is this - how can you find hope during the darkness of that night that you go through mentally? The best way I know is for you to think in a mode of positivity and let that be your vehicle to move forward, because if you consistently focus on the negative, that will send you down a more destructive path. That's the reason why thinking positively will give you a better outcome. I know its easier said than done, but you must make the effort to do it.
To sum up my experiences with mental health - in life you will have ups and downs, and the difference is in how you will with those. Dealing with them in a constructive way will give you far better results. It’s about focusing on positive attributes and using that as a vehicle to take you from point A to point B and C. Your future is in your hands and you can change it by thinking positively, so think positive thoughts please! Thank you for reasoning and tracking with me.
