Alcohol is not the answer, it only creates more problems...
Happiness Line.
Why engage in over-drinking if it is not working for you? I know first hand what alcoholism can do to any family. It really gives you more problems.
Problematic situations are all we get from practicing this vice. So we need to ask ourselves some key questions. One of them is, if this is not working for you, what is the sense to continue it? Is this the result that I want for myself or should this be something my family is seeing? Finding these answers are very important for your life and mind you, I use the phrase “your very own life...” As I said earlier, I know what it does to a family. Because mine is no exception. The more I understand it, the more I recognize that this is a serious issue within our nation. But like anything else in this world, they have to want that change. By they (the victim) wanting it, wouldn’t their decision and value inside be seen? That's the question they need to get answered consciously.
Over-drinking, yes, many may agree that it is part of our culture. Like many cultural aspects, it can be said that we promote this heavily. But at the end of the day, we must keep in mind that happiness is what matters most in life. Reconnecting with our happiness is how we will find any good or some worth inside again. Please be conscious…if something is destroying your life in a figurative sense, and as a spiritual person, then why do it? When you over-drink and you think that it calms your behaviour, what alcohol will do is trigger all sense of thoughts to send you down the road of not having Peace Within. When you are not a peace, your actions are not certain and anything can happen at any moment in time. This means you are not being fully wise about your problems, and when this happens, it will definitely lead you down the road to self destruction. Is that what you want for your life? Be conscious enough and find the answers within or find the oneness of your own mind...
What is the value of having oneness of mind? Have you ever thought about that and can you define your own life as a human being? These are the questions we need to answer if progress has to come. You may wonder why is progress important? That's a great question and I'm going to find an answer that will make you understand. Family goes on for generation after generation, the family tree grows. The family is further enhanced by each generation. Doesn’t this describe progress moving steadily? That is what progress can do. We need to understand if something is not giving us the best self, we must find the question or motive behind it. Isn’t that being practical? What do we as a people love to do?
Trinidadians and Tobagonians have a drinking problem! Everything we do as a society surround activities of drinking or over-drinking. It's showing now in our country as a negative effect on the youth. Rethinking our perspectives as a nation is one of the most progressive things we can do to become better with our choices and ups and downs relating to vices. Remember most things are good in moderation, so let us try to be better and balance it in a controlled manner, while heading towards a progressive way of living. Yes, we can do it with a positive stream of thought so let's do it...
Covid 19 is once again teaching us the value of working on ourselves instead of being lonely or fighting loneliness; if we did not take this time of reflection seriously, then let us start to learn the value again of finding the ingredients inside. The very first place to start on any quest is to conquer self, because once you do that, all of your problems are defeated, and you would have learned the map or the blueprint of who you are inside. Can I say in our loopy world full of pain and hopelessness all around, let us love again and tap into our independence to find self in the world, because we are all independent thinkers. So, while school is closed, let us march forward progressively to the school of self... During this pandemic, we have found ourselves saddled with inspection of introspection. Let's get on our map and map ourselves to find purpose within again... In other words, make yourself the subject. Study yourself, your likes and dislikes, your dreams and goals, your bad habits/vices through this time of reflection, and do this inch by inch to self-indulge your mind to the real work... Let's go finally into ourselves... Thanks for your support of this article...
